Mobilization for Circular Construction 2030

Cities lead the way for circular construction

During 2023–2025, Gothenburg, Malmö and Stockholm joined forces to solve the construction sector’s biggest challenges in circularity. Through in-depth collaboration, the project has translated theoretical models into concrete tools that make the transition more cost-effective for the entire industry. With a focus on common procurement requirements and interpretation of legislation, the cities have laid the foundation for a national scaling of circular methods.

Project results and deliverables:

1. Joint dissemination conference:

On June 4, 2025, the project's insights were summarised during a large dissemination conference, where experiences from collaboration between the cities and the industry were shared to inspire more municipalities and regions to take the next step.

3. A digital toolbox for the industry

In April 2025, a new, digitally user-friendly toolbox for circular construction was launched: a Knowledge Library - which makes it easy for actors to search for information and get direct guidance for circular construction and sustainable management in practice.
